We are pleased to announce that Canada Bay Club will be running more BAIDA games commencing Sunday 3 November 2024. Please check the time table on our website.

We are also pleased to announce The Year of the Snake Chinese New Year Specials and its qualifying periods below.


Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL : $10,000 prize money – Saturday 8 February 2025

Players must play a qualifying minimum of 60 games (BAIDA and APM Digital combined) between 1 November 2024 until 1 February 2025 to be able to register for the APM Digital. Players MUST ALSO have played at least 20 APM digital games to qualify for this tournament.

There will be 2 levels of prize money, players who have played 90 games or more will be paid Top Tier prize pool and players with 60 games or more but under 90 games will be paid under the 2nd Tier prize pool

You have asked for it and we are pleased to bring you a Marathon of Baida Games at Ashfield RSL every Thursday commencing 11 July 2024.

We hope you will enjoy your day of BAIDA but PLEASE remember the Code of Conduct:-
The following are not permitted:
• Collusion with another player or any other form of cheating
• Verbally or physically threatening any patron or employee
• Using profane or obscene language
• Creating a disturbance by arguing, shouting, or making excessive noise
• Throwing or shuffling tiles into the centre of the table before a Tournament Director arrives to check the score
• Destroying or defacing property

The following actions are improper, and grounds for warning, suspension, or barring a repeat offender:
• Deliberately acting out of turn
• Deliberately splashing mahjong tiles into the centre of the table
• Needlessly stalling the action of a game.
• Making statements or taking action that could unfairly influence the course of play, whether or not the offender is involved in the game
• Using a cell phone at the table.
• After rotating tables, the player should not tell the results of his previous opponents to his new opponents, and he should not elaborate in detail his own previous results. Also, one should not ask such information of his opponents

    I am pleased to announce in conjunction with Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club on 10 February 2024 – we are celebrating this Chinese New Year – Year of the Dragon with $10,000 cash prize money. There will be a total of 16 prizes to be given away. This will be determined by the total points gained from the top 16 players from the morning and afternoon games combined. The only qualification to join this game is to be a member of APM and the Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club. No new members will be accepted on this day.

    We will also be giving away 1 x 100 gm ABC Gold Bullion, 1 x 50 gm ABC Gold Bullion and 10 gm ABC Gold Bullion totaling about $18,000. This will be drawn from the receipts you have given to our TDs throughout the past year. Please ensure that you provide all your receipts from your spendings of more than $10 at the various participating clubs to your TDs by 31 January 2024 in order for the receipts to be admitted in the draw. This will be drawn after the end of the 2nd game on the 10 February 2024.

    • MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
    Dear APM Members,

    Wishing all our APM members and staff a very Merry Christmas and a Safe, Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

    I have just returned from the most amazing cruise of the Antarctica Peninsula, South Georgia and the surrounding islands in the Falklands. I would like to take this opportunity to share my experiences in this video (produced by Silversea) of our entire trip, with all our staff, APM members, friends and families. I hope you will enjoy with me, the beauty and pristine nature of Antarctica and all the various types of penguins, elephant seals, fur seals and birds that live in Antarctica and sub-Antarctica islands, also not forgetting the Humpback Whales, Fin Whales and the Orca, the Killer Whale.

    I would also like to express the importance of understanding global warming and climate change and what we all need to do to play a part immediately so that our next generation and the generations to come will still have the benefits of what is remaining on this earth.

    These are some of the ways we can each play a part.

    Save energy at home
    Much of our electricity and heat is powered by coal, oil and gas. Use less energy by lowering your heating and cooling, switching to LED light bulbs and energy-efficient electric appliances, washing your laundry with cold water or hanging things to dry instead of using a dryer.

    Walk, cycle or take public transport
    The world’s roads are clogged with vehicles, most of them burning diesel or petrol. Walking or riding a bike instead of driving will reduce greenhouse gas emissions – and help your health and fitness. For longer distances, consider taking a train or bus. And carpool whenever possible.

    Eat more vegetables
    Eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and less meat and dairy, can significantly lower your environmental impact. Producing plant-based foods generally results in fewer greenhouse gas emissions and requires less energy, land and water.

    Throw away less food
    When you throw food away, you're also wasting the resources and energy that were used to grow, produce, package and transport it. And when food rots in a landfill, it produces methane, a powerful greenhouse gas. So use what you buy and compost any leftovers.

    Reduce, reuse, repair & recycle
    Electronics, clothes and other items we buy cause carbon emissions at each point in production, from the extraction of raw materials to manufacturing and transporting goods to market. To protect our climate, buy fewer things, shop second-hand, repair what you can and recycle.

    Change your home's source of energy
    Ask your utility company if your home energy comes from oil, coal or gas. If possible, see if you can switch to renewable sources such as wind or solar. Or install solar panels on your roof to generate energy for your home.

    Switch to an electric vehicle
    If you plan to buy a car, consider going electric, with more and cheaper models coming on the market. Even if they still run on electricity produced from fossil fuels, electric cars help reduce air pollution and cause significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions than petrol or diesel-powered vehicles.

    PLEASE NOTE :
    On the 4 February 2023 - afternoon game will be the normal game with $750 cash prize - Players will have a chance to catch up to try and have played 65 games in total from 1 November to 15 February 2023 to enter the 18 February 2023 $5000 cash prize in APM Digital game - there will be no afternoon game at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL on 18 February 2023 - only morning $5000 Special APM Digital Loyalty players.

    TRADITIONAL MAHJONG IS BACK!!


    Dear APM Members,

    We are pleased to announce that we are bringing back physical mahjong to some Clubs starting with our new Rosehill Bowling Club on Sunday, 8 January 2023.

    Guildford Leagues will follow with physical mahjong on Tuesday 17th January, Ashfield RSL Club will follow as from Chinese New Year beginning Thursday 2 February 2023 and so will Canada Bay RSL Club from Friday 27 January 2023.

    We will continue with APM Digital with the other Clubs until further notice.

    PLEASE NOTE: In order to keep players safe playing physical mahjong, we will require players to be fully masked during all the games. Players are also required to sanitize their hands prior to sitting down at the table to play at the start of the game. Please also re sanitize again after the break to start the 2nd game.

    As our TDs have had a break from physical scoring of the games for the past almost 3 years, please be patient with them and do not create any arguments if they were wrong during scoring. Please ensure that wrongful scoring is settled in a civilized and calm manner failing which, we may have to go back to Digital mahjong where the computer will score for you.

    We trust all players will continue to enjoy the traditional mahjong as well as digital mahjong and most important enjoy the friendship both new and old and the camaraderie amongst all players.

    Dear APM Members,

    We are very pleased to announce Guildford Leagues Club coming on board with APM on Tuesday afternoons and nights.

    We are also planning to bring back more interesting competitions to our games in the coming months and will announce it as soon as we are ready.

    WE ARE BACK AGAIN!

    Dear APM Members,

    We are pleased to advise that we will be commencing APM Digital mahjong as soon as the Clubs are able to accommodate us.   Please look out for further notices on the dates and venues which are reopening for mahjong. 

    The Clubs will only reopen in accordance with a Public Health Order that will state that at the 70% vaccination rate, ONLY FULLY VACCINATED or medically exempt members, visitors, staff and contractors will be permitted access onto Club premises.

    Under the Public Health Orders, if you are not fully vaccinated (or holding a medical exemption certificate) the Clubs are unable to allow you to enter the premises at this stage of the 'Reopening NSW Roadmap'.
     
     When you arrive at the Clubs you will be required to: 

    1. Provide an official COVID-19 vaccination record

    You can do this in the following manner:-

    • Open your Express Plus Medicare mobile app, click “Immunisation History” and then click “View COVID-19 digital certificate” or
    • Access or CCOVID-19 digital certificate in your Apple Wallet or Google Pay or
    • Present a hard copy of your immunisation history statement or
    • Present a hard copy of a medical exemption
    1. Check in via the ServiceNSW QR Code
    2. Swipe in with your Membership Card
    3. Follow the health and safety advice in the various venues

    Please do follow the processes above.  If you need help, please advise us in advance so that one of our staff attending at the Venue can assist you

    Please continue to practise PLAY SAFE so that all our members can enjoy a great time at our various venues.
